glove v tab #2

Okay so I tried the glove again today to compare it against a tab.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t get a decent release using a glove.

Maybe the problem was the temperature as today it was cold, just above freezing for most of the day, sleeting at times. But I still think that a glove is not giving me the same release options.

The other thing that might be effecting my view is with shooting the flat bow (AFB) I am trying to correct a number of mistakes I make in my draw. I know that I am not drawing on the index finger and at release this finger has stretched to almost straight. So this might not helping.

I need to spend time on the range and practise and practise some more

Happy Christmas all

Season’s greetings

So weekend spent driving round the country visiting in-laws and at nephews christening along with multiple family meals. Don’t think I need to eat for the rest of this week.

This means there was no further testing of glove verses tab on the archery range.

Not sure how easily I will be updating this blog in the near future as my netbook has died and am waiting on its repair.

So I will take this opportunity to wish all a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New year (especially those attending any Champions shop shoots in 2012 or indeed the 2012 Olympics)

Gloves v Tab

I’ve shot using a tab for sometime now, but with the change of bow I thought I might try shooting using a glove. Why I hear you ask?
Well I know a number of good archers use them and following my coaching course I thought it would be good to try a glove so I can give / advise people on the differences
Well first experiences are that I don’t think I get as smooth a release using a glove. Hand position or rather finger position requires more thought, but I will give it a few moe goes and see what develops
